day 72 (Blog Crush)

Kaylah of Dainty Squid.

Just the cutest gal ever . She makes the most lovely pouches and clutches.

She completed her own 365 Project last year

My hero!

(and she possesses the most thread-worthy dimples!)

day 71

Miss James of Bleubird Vintage.

I really wanted to embroider the entire family. They are all so threadworthy.

But alas I only had one day and you have the beautiful James.

hand embroidered on vintage scarf with tea dyed floral applique framed in 14" hoop

Day 70 (Blog Crush)

A Girl Named Astrid.

Anyone who knows Astrid is immediately smitten with her. She is but 15 years old but encompasses everything that I have spent a lifetime to achieve. She knows exactly who she is.

She is the "it Girl". She is a beautiful photographer, incredibly talented artist, lovely model (you will be seeing Astrid in many more pieces to follow...) the best artist assistant (she helps me with photo shoots, styling and again as a model for subject matter) .

I feel very lucky that she is my friend.

Day 69 (Blog Crush)

The Stunning Elsie from "A Beautiful Mess"

What can you say about Elsie in a small blog post.

She is the cutest, most creative, stylish, talented, ambitious girl on the block.

Her wedding album is drool worthy, as are her workshops (ecourses), outfit posts and photography ....
and she is so darn sweet!

Thanks Elsie!

Day 68 (Blog Crush)

Caren from Tea and Chicadees (a blog about the little things).

I met Caren a few years ago . She had the cutest shop in town and asked if I would be interested in selling some of my prints there. This was the beginning of one of my most cherished friendships.

When we see each other we get as giddy as school girls. We share a love of tea, all things vintage, graphic novels and comic books and David Sedaris. Her treasuries on Etsy are so beautifully curated, they just blow my mind.

Oh and check out her awesomely curated etsy shop at The Vintage Apartment!

day 67 (blog crush)

I have been following the blog
Doe-C-Doe forever. The author
Gina has the most inspiring, beautiful, humorous posts that always make my day.

She makes the most beautiful embroidery.

She takes the most whimsical photos too. Her toy photos always make me smile.

My favourite thing about Gina? Aside from being extremely sweet, super creative and unbelievable talented?

Her accordion playing. My kids gather round as soon as I am playing one of her songs.

Day 66 (Blog Crush)

Blog Crush number 4.

Erin of Calivintage.

I have been crushing on Erin forever.
Erin's outfit posts are always the perfect combination of impeccable style with a great sense of humour.

I am going to be having a style icon series and you bet you will be seeing Erin all stitched up again wearing another fabulous frock.

DAY 65 (Blog Crush)

Miss Modish (aka Jena)

Another stunner I know. It might as well be bombshell week all over again.

Whenever I read something interesting I always send it to my evernote. Well Jena's business and creativity tips make up most of what I have saved there. She is the most insightful guidance counsellor to indie businesses there is .... hands down.

Day 64 (Blog Crush)

Blog Crush today is none other than the gorgeous Jill from Lune Vintage.

Jill is drop dead gorgeous. On top of that she has the greatest style sense that makes her even more breathtaking.

But it's not just her beauty that I fawn over. Jill is a savy business woman.
She is owner of a fabulous vintage shop and takes in on the road in the summer in the cutest Boler trailer.
She is one of the co-authors of the Indie-Business course of which I am proud to be an alumni.

To boot she is a fellow Canadian. And you know us Canadians. We like to point that out.

day 63 (Blog Crush Week)

This week is dedicated to all the bloggers that I crush on.

I have always been a blog lurker.
I love to read them but never comment. If I did  my comments would consist of "you are so cool", and "that's awesome", and probably another "you are so cool" and maybe a "I wish we were friends" and I don't want to scare anyone or sound to lame... so that is why I lurk.

Blogs are funny, you get so attached to the people who write them. They become your friends without ever having to meet.

These gals are like that for me. I can't wait to hear what they are up to, what they are wearing, what they are making... I just can't wait to hear from them.

I am proud to say that I have left my lurker status behind me and have spoken to all these ladies and they are as sweet and nice as I could have imagined.

And best of all they all agreed to be featured in the 365.

Blog Crush number 1.

My Girl Thursday.

I do not just follow Thursday on her blog. I follow her around our city to thrift stores, craft shows, indoor playgrounds, and splash pads. I followed her for so long that she finally gave in and now we are friends.

Day 62 (I think I love you but I'm a preteen and my Mom says it's just hormones) week

This was much more than a crush. I really did love Sean.

I paid admission and sat through all of Shanghai Surprise. Twice.

That is true love and devotion.

Day 61 (I think I love you but I'm a preteen and my Mom says it's just hormones) week

Before there was "Something About Mary" I thought there was something about Matt.

Matt Dillon (The Outsiders)

This one goes out to my long time Bestie Jo. Who watched with me "Drugstore Cowboy" countless times.

I am so grateful

I just wanted to add a quick post to thank you all for being so supportive  of this project. Through emails, comments and coming to check out this site you have made this project so wonderful.

Your encouragement and kind words are the fuel that keeps this project going. (sorry to sound so corny but it's true)

So thanks again so much.!

The kindness of people just makes me so happy. (ok that's the corniest)

day 60 (I think I love you but I'm only a preteen and my mom says it's just hormones week)

Rob Lowe.

Oh and by the way my teenage dreams came true. Rob with my Embroidery on the Katie Couric show.

Day 59 (I think I love you but I'm a preteen and my Mom says it's just hormones) week

Emilio was the best , everything was perfect.

Then I met the  Bad Boy Brother.

Mother can't believe I could do this to Emilio.
I'm grounded for a week.

Charlie Sheen, "Wallstreet"

day 58 (I Think I Love You But I am a Preteen and My Mom says it's Hormones Week)

Emilio Estevez. You were the one. Sensible, smart, funny, hardworking. My Mom really liked you too. But it was to end tragically. See tomorrow's post to find out the details.

day 57 (I Think I Love You But I am a Preteen and My Mom Says It's Hormones Week)

I really wanted to be his "Sweet Sixteen".

My mom would have really loved that.

Billy Idol.

day 56 (I Think I Love You But I am a Preteen and My Mom says it's Hormones Week)

I grew up in the eighties. I back then as I am now was a lover of movies and music. It was here that I developed my first crushes.

This week is dedicated to the boys that I would write on my pages of my notebooks with lots of hearts and x's and o's. ... forever.

Nicolas Cage, "Valley Girl".

Sunday, November 13, 2011

Day 55 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

Oshawa Public Library. I worked there 4 years part time while I was attending high school.

BEST JOB I EVER HAD! (other than my current one!)

Saturday, November 12, 2011

Day 54 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

Receptionist. My main responsibility was to answer the phone and give directions to get to the office. I was from out of town and  had no idea of describing how to get there. I would have to interrupt the other staff to ask directions. They drew me maps, I still had to ask for directions.

Come to think of it I never received a mug with jelly beans and a small stuffed animal wearing a t-shirt that says You're #1 ... not even on secretary's day.

Friday, November 11, 2011

Day 53 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

I worked in a bakery and got to be around the smell of baking bread.... Yum right? The only down side was that my apartment at the time was located above another bakery... there was no escape from the smell though delicious it was . Maybe that's when I started having problems tolerating wheat ;).

And no my uniform wasn't as cute as this one.

Day 52 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

I have been dreading the day that I might be sick and how I will go about this project.

Well today was the day.

I have what I think is the flu... I just feel horrible.

On the upside I learned that I can throw around a couple of stitches sick in bed.

So here it is ...my job as a camp councellor at Camp Can-Do.

I know, the irony is killing me too.

Best,
Lucky

Day 51 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

Bar Wench.

I worked at an Irish pub for 2 years. The owner likened himself as a Rod Stewart doppelganger. It was mandatory that after our shift was over (about 2 am when we were all totally exhausted) the barmaids and servers were to play audience to him singing Karaoke to Rod's greatest hits.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Day 50 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

I worked as a waitress for a long time. Most stressful job I have ever had. I still have nightmares.

One dreamy thing about my stint in the restaurant industry? I got to work with this really cute guy and flirt all day when we had the same shifts.

20 years later and I am married to the cute cook.

Monday, November 7, 2011

Day 49 (Take This Job and Shove It Week)

Before I stabbed fabric on a daily basis I had some other jobs. This week is dedicated to them.

I once (for 8 years) peddled sofas and chaise lounge chairs.
